5 signs your iPhone needs a new battery
- Battery Health is below 80%. Open Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging. Below 80% maximum capacity, Apple considers the battery worn.
- The phone shuts off at 20–30%. A worn battery cannot deliver enough power under load, so the iPhone turns off even though the percentage still shows charge left.
- It no longer lasts a day. If you charge two or three times a day with normal use, the battery has lost much of its capacity.
- The iPhone feels slow. When a battery is worn, iOS can limit peak performance to prevent unexpected shutdowns.
- The screen is lifting or the back is bulging. This can be a swollen battery. Stop charging the phone and bring it in right away.
